Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: 1 John 3:1
To be born the son or daughter of a king is a pretty big deal. It doesn’t happen every day and certainly not to just anyone. When it comes to physical births that is.
To become a child of the King of kings, we must have a spiritual birth.
Everyone has a physical birthday. The day we left our mothers womb was the day we began our lives. We would never have known life if we had not been born. Spiritually, we can never know eternal life unless we are born again.
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:3
There was a day when we came into this world, and there will be a day when we leave it. Our bodies will die, and our souls will enter into eternity. We will live forever in one of two places: Heaven or Hell!
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Hebrews 9:27
We don’t have to worry about where we will go. God has made a way that we can know for sure that when our time comes we will spend eternity in Heaven.
Are you sure you will go to heaven? Or, do you have some doubts?
There is only one way to know for sure. That is the Bible way.
The Bible says you must:
1. Admit That You Are A Sinner.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23
2. Admit That You Owe A Debt.
For the wages of sin is death… Romans 6:23 .
Though you are not dead physically, you are dead spiritually. Sin has separated you from God. If you enter eternity without being reconciled to God, you will face an eternity in Hell.
3. Admit That Only Jesus Can Pay Your Debt.
…the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23 .
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12
It’s popular today to believe that living a good life is enough to buy your way into Heaven. Many people trust in living a good life, being a member of a church, taking communion, of being baptized. But the Bible is very clear that the only way to be freed from our debt of sin is through God’s Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ never sinned, yet chose to die for all of us who have sinned.
4. Admit That Jesus Christ Is Lord.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9
If you believe this Gospel, (good news of God) and will trust Christ as your Lord and Savior; believing that He is God in flesh, you can be saved!
5. Ask God For Salvation.
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13
You must make the decision to trust Christ as your Savior. Simply knowing all of this will not save you. He has promised to save you from your sins only if you will ask Him. Salvation is a free gift, but you must choose to accept it. Admitting that you are a sinner, and asking for salvation is a sign of humility. The. Bible tells us:
…God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. James 4:6 .
There is no time to wait! There is no time to put it off! Today is the day of salvation! Hell is full of people who were waiting for better time that never came.
Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. Proverbs 27:1
If you are willing to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, your prayer might be something like this:
Heavenly Father, I know that I am a sinner, and that my sin has condemned me to an eternity in Hell. I believe that Jesus is God and Savior, and that He died on the cross for my sins. I am willing to turn to turn my life over to Christ. I am placing my tust in You to forgive my sins. I believe that You will and I thank you for giving me salvation. In Christ,s name, Amen.
If you prayed this prayer, or one like it, I love to hear about it!
