Why our entertainment choices matter

When I'm consuming a steady diet of the worlds entertainment, my mind not stayed on Christ. It's the spiritual equivalent of eating cake for every meal. It might seem good at the time, but it leaves you feeling sluggish and sick. Sure, I might be having my daily quiet time, but opening my Bible for a few minutes in the morning then spending the rest of the day watching Netflix, is like eating a carrot before my breakfast cake thinking that will erase the effects of the cake.

Until the other day I had never seriously considered that question. All sin separates us from God. In that sense, it doesn't matter what that sin is, we're still cut off from enjoying a relationship with Him while we are living in our sin. But is there one sin that God finds particularly annoying?

Whose Armor Are You Wearing?

My own armor does nothing for me except make provision for my flesh. We can't be affective soldiers if we are wearing faulty armor. The armor we wear must be the best. It must be God's armor. He provides for us everything we need. But we have to be willing to give up our own armor first.
