Daughters Of The King

The Daughters Of The King

on
June 26, 2015

Once upon a time there was a great king. He had many sons and many daughters. To his sons he gave strong armor, swords, and shields. To his daughters he gave sparkly tiaras, beautiful ball gowns, and lots of shoes.

The king’s sons were strong and fought many battles. While his daughters stayed safe behind palace walls planning spectacular parties and waiting to be rescued…

Wait, sorry. That’s the wrong story…

The king in this story isn’t just any king. He is the King of kings, and the Lord of lords. He is a wise and loving father. And He knows that his daughters, as well as His sons, have an enemy that seeks to devour them. He also knows that there may not always be a Prince Charming to come and rescue them from the dragon’s teeth.

So He teaches them to be strong, and to endure hard things, and He gives them armor. He gives them shields to extinguish the blows of the enemy. And He gives them a sword, forged by the fiery tongue of the Holy Spirit, and etched with name of the Lamb that was slain. He carefully watches over them night and day, and calls them to rest in the shadow of His mighty wings.

If you ask any these daughters of the King, they will tell you that they have fought many battles. They have been wounded and sometimes scarred. But behind the scars there is strength, and there is beauty in the brokenness. For their loving Father gathers the broken pieces and makes them into wonderful mosaics.

These warrior princesses fight with courage and confidence, knowing that the defeat of their enemy is already written, and that he can cause them no harm as long as they follow their Lord and bear His armor. They trust, not in their own strength, but in the strength of their Father, and the power of His holy name. They are clothed in His righteousness, made clean by the blood of the Lamb. Their jewels are wisdom and knowledge.

These princesses are not the stuff of fairy tales they are real. They are the beloved daughters of The Great I Am.

The king in this story isn't just any king. This King is the King of kings, and the Lord of lords. And these princesses are not the stuff of fairy tales they are real. They are the beloved daughters of The Great I Am.
